Doug has several projects currently underway.

The Churchills is music drama of epic proportions. It explores the relationship of Clementine and Winston Churchill through their long lives together, spanning a period of mass social change and some of the most turbulent times in human history. It examines themes of leadership, love, sacrifice, loss. The story and emotional journey is as much Clementine’s as that of her more famous partner. The Churchills resembles a roller-coaster in terms of pace. In theatrical style it is episodic, Brechtian, but with a clear narrative. The music by much sought-after composer Kym Alexandra Dillon, is surprising, challenging, beautiful, often fun – it works its way under your skin and into your heart. Writer and composer are actively seeking funding to complete this work.

One Sweet Dream is the result of Doug’s interest in combining classic works of different genre, in this case a play by Shakespeare with a famous album of contemporary music (every note!) The show has been successfully trialled and is in final revision.

Current works in other media include a comic time-travelling detective novel on the Shakespeare authorship question, while waiting in the wings are long form works of poetry for children and several literature -to-stage adaptations.
